The Machine Shed Restaurants Win 3rd Annual
Turkey on the Menu Award from the National Turkey Federation
The Machine Shed Restaurants were named the 3rd Annual winner of the Turkey on the Menu Award presented by The National Turkey Federation. The National Turkey Federation recognizes restaurants that have successfully integrated turkey items into their menu. During the presentation of this award in Long Beach, California, 600 turkey industry representatives from around the country were present. The Machine Shed Restaurants were nominated by the Iowa Turkey Federation saying, "The Machine Shed has a true appreciation of the flexibility and menu options that are available with turkey."
All restaurants nominated were judged based on how the turkey application addresses versatility, taste, convenience and consumer appeal. Points were also awarded for the way the turkey menu item met the consumer needs for visual appeal, portion size, versatility, taste and value.
The Machine Shed Restaurant has seven Midwest locations and offers numerous turkey items on the menu, including its bestseller, Roast Turkey and Sage Dressing with Pan Gravy. The Machine Shed Restaurant was started in 1978 as a 100-seat diner in Davenport, Iowa. The Machine Shed prides itself in serving quality poultry, meats and vegetables representing the Midwest and its farmers. Today, The Machine Shed Restaurants seat over 400 people per location and includes turkey as a menu item in numerous different ways. Some of The Machine Shed's signature dishes include Turkey Filet Mignon and Smoked Turkey Reuben.
